What I need from you.
First, and most obviously,
I need your support at the polls.
To vote in this General Election, you must be registered with your county board of elections by October 8th.
Election Day is November 2.
Early (one-stop) voting, begins this year on October 14 and continues through October 30.
If you wish to vote absentee, you may apply for a ballot beginning on September 13.
I also need you to recommend me to your family, friends, and neighbors, of whatever party.
I am willing to come into your homes, your churches, your civic clubs, your places of business, to listen as well as to talk, to ask questions as well as give answers. (Remember, if you host a gathering such as a coffee and dessert get-together on my behalf, you can give us your receipts so that we can credit you for an “in kind” contribution to the campaign.)
However, in order to do well at the polls, I need money and personnel.
I intend to place my campaign under a financial constraint in this race that I believe few are willing to accept: Apart from the single loan made by a supporter to open a bank account, the repayment of which is my first priority, I want to run a campaign that reflects my objective for government fiscal policy – one that pays its way as it goes and reaches its goal with no obligation other than to do my best for the people of District 118 and the State of North Carolina.
While I have no objection to receiving contributions from PACs that understand and agree with my vision, I would rather finance the campaign with contributions from individuals. I’d rather have $4,000 from 400 small donors than $4,000 from a couple of large ones. (Each person may give up to $4000 per election cycle, and must do so in a way that identifies both you and your occupation, as required by NC Campaign Finance laws.)
If you support my principles and objectives, I would be grateful for your support and will do my best, God being my helper, to make you grateful you supported me and helped turn our great state “right side UP!”
